Toronto’s Skratch Bastid is not only one of our greatest turntablist/scratch champ/party rockers, but he’s also a two-time Juno Award nominee (Canada’s top musical honor) for his studio work. Born Paul Murphy in Nova Scotia, Skratch Bastid rose through the turntablists ranks, eventually winning three Scribble Jam DJ Battles. He’s served as the global ambassador and judge for Red Bull’s The3style DJ competitions, and host for his Bastid’s BBQ block-party events.
Founded in 2011, Bastid’s BBQ was founded as a platform to channel his passions of music, food, and building community. Today, the party has become a globally recognized event series, spanning multiple cities around the world and bringing some of the most talented and legendary DJs and producers in music to its stage.
