The Female DJ Council: Here to Stay and Play

It’s been just a few short months since the Female DJ Council made its debut at DJX, and already, this movement has grown into something incredible. What started as a spark has turned into a community of over 600 DJs, women and allies,  who are actively supporting one another, sharing opportunities, and pushing the industry forward.

Our online group has become the heartbeat of the Council, a space where members connect, share gigs, collaborations, and celebrate wins together. In the coming months, we’ll start giving our members some well-deserved shine on our Instagram page, where each feature will highlight the work, artistry, and individuality of the women redefining what it means to be a DJ today.

We’re also inviting female DJs to share their voices by contributing articles to the DJX Newsletter. Whether it’s about industry trends, challenges, or your personal perspective on the future of DJing, this is your platform to be heard and represented.

Behind the scenes, we’re continuing to work with Hazan Media Group on upcoming projects and partnerships designed to elevate visibility and opportunity.

We recently debuted on Crate Hackers, contributing to the growth of an LGBTQIA+ crate, and we’re gearing up for our next big moment - an appearance at the Pittsburgh DJ Summit in January, where the Council will showcase a new lineup of female+ DJs during the Monday night event.

We’re excited about what’s ahead. The ideas we planted at DJX have taken root, and by spring, watch as they bloom!!

At the end of the day, our mission is simple: to make sure female DJs are seen, respected, and supported. We’re not a trend or a token. We’re a powerful part of the industry. We’re here to stay… and here to play!
