Female DJ Council Debuts at DJX ‘25
The magic of DJX hits the moment you step through the doors. Whether it’s your first year or your tenth, the energy is unmistakable.
Friends reuniting from across the country, hugs and handshakes at every turn, and the anticipation of what’s ahead. This year’s theme, “Come Together,” celebrating DJX’s 35th anniversary, couldn’t have been more fitting.
For the Female DJ Council, it marked an official launch and DJX delivered. We were placed front and center in the registration area, directly in front of the showroom floor doors, guaranteeing every attendee passed by our space. The reaction was immediate: people were curious, excited, and supportive. For many, it felt overdueand undeniably powerful to see women showcased so prominently.
Throughout the week, rotating DJs brought their own unique soundscapes to registration, each set attracting its own crowd. Veteran DJs drew longtime peers while new faces pulled in fresh listeners, proving once again that women in this industry are as diverse and dynamic as DJing itself.
The activation was powered by strong partnerships: Ultimate Ears and MAX Design enhanced our sound and booth presence, Visual Sound Productions provided the controller, and 2 DJs and 1 Mic recorded live alongside us. Some of our DJs were also interviewed by DJ Echo, turning the area into a true community hub where music, media, and networking collided.
And the spotlight didn’t fade after hours. Nightlife programming featured female talent thanks to The MixHer with DJs ReRe, Aye West, and BASSBOSS, paired with another standout booth from Max Design.
The support was overwhelming. Attendees, men and women alike, stopped by to say how refreshing it was to see women DJs highlighted. Young girls lit up seeing female DJs behind the booth, while veteran women DJs expressed how meaningful it felt to finally be seen. It was emotional, affirming, and the proof of concept we needed: the Female DJ Council isn’t just an idea anymore. It’s here, it’s working, and it’s growing.
This Council was born out of nearly two years of conversation with DJX and Hazan Media Group, and Atlantic City proved why it matters. Representation isn’t about one conference or one booth; it’s about creating ongoing visibility and opportunity. Already, new collaborations have been offered since the show closed and this is just the beginning!
Follow The Female DJ Council on Instagram and Facebook as we continue to educate, inspire, and showcase women DJs across the U.S. and beyond. The movement has started, and it’s only going to get louder.
