DJX Show Announces Collaboration With LMXX/Latin Mixx

DJX and LMXX (aka Latin Mixx), a national collective for Latin DJs, have agreed to an ongoing strategic alliance. The primary objective of the collaboration is to advocate and support inclusivity in the DJ community.

Produced by DJ LIFE mag and Hazan Media Group, DJX’22 will run Aug. 8-11 at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino on Atlantic City’s famed Boardwalk. At the show, LMXX will present “How Latin DJ/Producers Move On Up,” an inspirational discussion panel sharing stories of triumph from some of the top talents in the various genres of Latin music (reggaeton, bachata, merengue, salsa, cumbia, Regional Mexican, Dembo, etc.).

Moderated by LMXX founder Kevin "Pillz" Montano, the session will include top jocks like DJ Pereira of New York’s La X 96.3 FM; LeXeDIT, one of the top editors in the game; and DJ Kazzanova, a remixer extraordinaire/radio talent.

Since their meeting at DJX’21, it was immediately evident to reps from LMXX and HMG that both organizations would develop ongoing initiatives, based on the values of authenticity, inclusivity, and community.

“Within minutes of the first meeting, we knew that the structures of HMG and of LMXX were complimentary – moreso, the values and priorities are directly aligned,” says LMXX’s Montano. “Our purpose at LMXX has been to advocate for the creative talent emerging in the Latin community, and aligning with HMG’s integrated media and branding expertise ensures that purpose.”

Both organizations align, while leveraging the power of content creation via digital, socials, streaming, live events, magazines, showcases, conferences, education, and radio shows to distribute messaging.

“There are so many complimentary opportunities for both parties to cross-message and support the communities we represent; it would be a disservice to the industry to not lead by example,” says Shawn Hazan, President & CEO of DJX’s new owner, HMG. “The timing is right, right now, to come together. This agreement aligns with our recent announcements expanding the DJX offering into more experiential lifestyle opportunities that engage the larger market.”

Adds DJ LIFE magazine Editor Jim Tremayne:

“Latin music and the Latin DJ community have always been strong components of our market, and we’re excited to offer a platform for LMXX at DJX – and there’s more to come.”
